May's Charity - The Proud Trust

We are back again with a brand new charity to support throughout May! Every single month we will be donating 10% of our profits and all the tips at the checkout to a different local charity. We will also be disclosing exactly how much has been raised for each charity at the end of the month! This May we are so excited to be supporting The Proud Trust. This is another fantastic Manchester-based charity and there are so many ways that we can support them together

The Proud Trust The Proud Trust is a fantastic and innovative charity based in Greater Manchester which helps LGBTQ+ young people feel empowered and make a positive change for themselves! The organisation offers youth groups and coordinates national and regional LGBTQ+ youth work networks. The Proud Trust also manages the LGBTQ+ centre for Manchester and delivers training, runs events and undertakes important research. This incredible charity sets out to address three main aims:

1. Creating a better support network for LGBTQ+ youth groups and young people.
2. Keeping young LGBTQ+ people on other people’s agendas so that schools, colleges, governments and other organisations considered and addressed LGBTQ needs.
3. Providing opportunities to bring young people together in regional events such as; Pride Youth Games, Peer educator training and conferences.

It is no doubt that The Proud Trust are doing an incredible job and during 2019-2020 they asked young people what the direct impact of coming to the Proud Trust is:

• 99% feel more included, involved and accepted
• 87% are better able to look after their mental health
• 97% say that they accept themselves more because they have a space to learn about their gender and sexuality
• 94% feel more confident in themselves

How ARTEMIS are Going to Contribute  We are SO grateful that each and every one of you have allowed us to do this. Through your orders, we are now in a position to be able to support our community and help as much as we can! The Proud Trust do incredible work and provide so much guidance to young people and we want to support them! We have chosen to support The Proud Trust not only as it is a local charity to us, but because they are doing such an amazing job for such a good cause. Mental health, the LGBTQ+ community and supporting young people are so important and we want to do our bit to help make each and every individual feel supported.
