SO FAR WE HAVE COLLABORATED WITH ILLUSTRATORS, JEWELLERY MAKERS AND CREATIVES FROM ALL AREAS TO CREATE SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE PRODUCTS. WE WILL BE INTERVIEWING THESE BUSINESS OWNERS EACH MONTH AS PART OF OUR NEW BUSINESS OWNER SPOTLIGHT SERIES, GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO GET TO KNOW EACH OF THEM AND THEIR 'SMALL BIZ' A LITTLE BETTER!

First up is Lauren Lilly from Lauren Makes Things! What’s something interesting about you personally? I studied illustration at uni and I've always had a passion for art. As well as dying my hair every couple of weeks whenever I get bored! How did you start your small business? After graduating uni during lockdown, I needed to find something to do that would keep me sane. I started making earrings for myself and posting them on Instagram, until someone said they wanted some. I sold them on my Instagram stories before opening my etsy shop. What is your favourite thing about running your own business? Finding other creatives and businesses that inspire me and seeing the reactions of my lovely customers! Whenever someone sends me a photo of their order or leaves a review on my shop, it absolutely makes my day! Can you tell us a little about what you sell? I like experimenting a lot and trying new things. It started with simple polymer clay earrings, then went on to try more intricate designs. I started branching out to make crystal rings, necklaces and metal stamped rings. I wanted to make pieces that I like and that I think other people would like as well.
